The authorities registered a case against Founder – Infosys Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan and former IISc Director Balaram along with 16 others under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act on Monday.
Based on the instructions of the 71st city civil and session court (CCH) the case was documented at Sadashiva Nagar police station.
Durgappa from the tribal Bovi community served as a faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He alleged that false accusations in a honey trap case led to his dismissal from service in 2014. He claimed that he faced caste-based insults along with threats.
Additional people accused in this case are Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari K V S, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.
The IISc faculty and Kris Gopalakrishnan who is a Board of Trustees member at IISc did not offer any immediate response.
A private faculty member's complaint prompted Sadashivanagar police to charge Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan along with 17 IISc members under the SC/ST Atrocities Act for using a fabricated honey trap case to topple him from his position and for casting caste-based abuse against him.
